July 10/09 18:10 pm - CCA Announces Elite Women Road Development Project

The Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce the athletes who will represent Canada at UCI stage races this month in France. The Tour de Bretagne UCI 2.2 will run from July 16th to the 19th and will be followed by the Tour du Limousin, UCI 2.2 from July 22nd to the 26th.

This project is part of the development road program of the CCA.  Canada is bringing a very strong group of promising athletes. The goal is to expose them to the European racing scene to become better riders and to progress to the next level.  This project has been made possible by the generous contribution of the Hamilton Foundation and Own the podium.

L'association cycliste canadienne est heureuse d'annoncer les athlètes qui représenteront le Canada lors du Tour de Bretagne 2009, UCI 2.2 ainsi qu'au Tour du Limousin, UCI 2.2 qui seront tenue en France.  La première course aura lieu di 16 au 19 juillet et le Tour du Limousin aura lieu du 22 au 26 juillet.

Ce projet s'inscrit dans le cadre des programmes de développement féminin.  L'objectif est d'offrir à certains de nos meilleurs espoirs un bon niveau de course Européen afin qu'ils deviennent de meilleurs coureuses cyclistes.  Le Canada possède un bon groupe d'athlètes féminins au talent prometteur et nous espérons que ce projet les emmènera à un niveau plus élevé.

Ce projet a été rendu possible grâce à la généreuse contribution de la Fondation Hamilton ainsi que de l'organisme À nous le Podium.
