Stevens Racing presented by The Cyclery (www.stevensracingcanada.com) is pleased to announce the continued support of its two title sponsors for the 2010 cycling season.  Stevens Bikes (German bicycle manufacturer) and The Cyclery (Ottawa South bicycle store) will be returning as co-sponsors of the Canadian-based women's cycing team.  In addition, support will also be provided to the team in 2010 by Shimano, Giro and Continental.

The team is also pleased to announce that the roster will expand for the 2010 cycling season. Interested women who anticipate holding a Senior 1/2 road license in 2010 are invited to submit an application to the team no later than September 25, 2009.  In the application, riders should include details on their previous race results/experience, city/province of residence, expectation of sponsorship support, current UCI licence number, current occupation and an indication of the number of races the rider is prepared to commit to for the 2010 season.

The riders of Stevens Racing presented by The Cyclery amassed some impressive results in their 96 starts, completing the season with 50 podium finishes including 35 victories. Julia Bradley of Toronto recently competed at the Canadian Track National Championships held in Burnaby, BC and won bronze in each of the three races she entered. Other current notable results include a bronze medal in the individual Time Trial at the Quebec Provincial Championships by Sophie Matte and a first place finish by Tricia K. Spooner at the Ontario Mountain Bike Marathon Championships. As previously announced, another extraordinary result was Sue Schlatter taking the women's top spot at the infamous Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hill Climb event in August.

Throughout the season the team developed and demonstrated cohesive teamwork at several prominent races including the Calabogie Spring Classic and the Syracuse Race Weekend as well as competing at the Canadian National Championships among others major race events. The 2010 race schedule will see the team further develop team skills at events in Ontario, Quebec as well as a few appearances in north-eastern United States.

Stevens Bikes (www.stevensbikes.com), one of the leading bicycle manufacturers in Europe, continues to gain ground in the North American market, with its support of the team being one key step in ensuring greater visibility and exposure for the Stevens' lines of road, cross, leisure and mountain bikes.

The Cyclery (www.thecyclery.ca) is one of Ottawa's most well known cycling stores offering a wide range of cycling products, services and accessories. The Cyclery is located in Ottawa South.
