Nicole Brändli (Sui) has announced her retirement from professional cycling after a career that has spanned more than 10 years. She has been with Bigla Cycling Team since 2005, and Bigla announced at the end of 2009 that it would not continue, thus assisting her in her decision.
“After serious consideration, I will not start in the coming season,” she wrote on her website. “After 10 years of professional sport, I need time to think about what I really want to do in the future.”
Brändli is the 3 time Swiss national champion, has twice won the women's Giro (2001/03) and has three world championship silver medals.
