It is a great honor for Greater Sudbury to have been chosen to host the 2010 Ontario Summer Games. The staging of the Ontario Summer Games will celebrate their achievements in enviro-care, showcasing their outstanding facilities and highlight the passion of the community. The Games will open on the 10th of August and conclude on the 13th. Athletes will be staying at Laurentian University which will be home to over 2000 athletes and Cambrian College which will house another 1000.

The 2010 Ontario Summer Games will feature 32 official sports being played at nearly 40 venues across Greater Sudbury. The Ontario Cycling Association is proud to announce that they will be bringing 48 Cross Country athletes from 12 regions around Ontario to participate in this year's Games. The XC event will take place at Naughton Trial, with the event being run by the Walden MTB Club. Registration is now open for the Games with an application deadline of June 25th, 2010. You can visit our website or for more information regarding signing up for the 2010 Ontario Summer Games you can phone Greg Rawson at 416-426-7416 or e-mail him at intern@ontariocycling.org

Along with XC, BMX will once again be a part of the Ontario Summer Games. BMX racing will be taking place at the Adanac Ski Hill Park (Rotary Park). With a newly built intermediate level track, the OCA has already been up there to give the track a 'technical boost' for our more experienced racers. Registration is now open and spots are going fast! You can visit our website or for more information regarding the BMX aspect of the 2010 Ontario Summer Games you can phone Nicky Pearson at 416-426-7247 or e-mail her at bmx@ontariocycling.org.

With the focus on development of athletes, the Ontario Summer Games acts as a prelude to the Canada Summer Games which will happen again in 2011! Everyone interested is encouraged to sign up as soon as possible due to the very limited number of spots available.
