The National team is holding the final selection for the first World Cup of the 2010-2011 season in Los Angeles. Coach Richard Wooles collected quotes from a few of the riders preparing for the Melbourne event.whitten

The women's team pursuit program started the trials on the first day with the arduous solo standing kilo test. It was one of the only standing kilo's I have ever done in full race kit [disc wheels, speed suit, aero helmet, etc.]. I was satisfied with my time and my improvements in strength in the last five weeks of intensive on and off the bike strength training. Steph Roorda

During this camp, we had the opportunity to do full team pursuit and team sprint trials. We have a great team atmosphere going on, supporting each other. It is encouraging to see improvement in the athletes' performances compared to last year. Tara Whitten

This camp is basically getting me back into training since returning from the Commonwealth Games. I didn't feel so good on the bike, I was tired, but riding alongside the others motivated me to step up my game. We didn't achieve our best times individually, but as a team this was our best time on this track. Having new athletes trying to steal our spots is definitely motivating us to up our game. Travis Smith

It was a tough camp, but great to see such a good team spirit. Training as a group and not spread out across Canada has allowed us to become a tighter unit. There is more of a team feeling when we are together, which pushes you that much further in your performances. Scott Mulder
