Posted by Editoress on 02/21/11

Are you nervous about your first race? Or riding in a big group? Learn to Road is aimed at novice and first time racers - for men, women and kids. Get familiar with the Escape Velocity Spring Series race course #1 and the people that you will be racing with while you learn to race safely and effectively.

Certified NCCP coaches and Elite racers will take you through a three hour overview of how to road race for your first time. We will cover basic race preparation, race nutrition and hydration, basic warm up, race rules and regulations, along with race language and peloton communication. We will be using the race course for race simulation.

What to bring: Riding clothes for all kinds of weather, a change of dry clothes, pen and paper, and all the questions that you have about racing. Please come prepared to ride, with extra tubes, a pump and your bike in perfect working order. Helmets are mandatory.

Cost: $35

***You must have a valid 2011 Cycling BC membership; Race license or Club Membership to participate!
