May 5/11 12:12 pm - Pan Am Track Championships: Day 5 results

Posted by Editoress on 05/5/11

Full Results from the 5th day of racing at the Pan Am Track Championships in Medellin Colombia.

Quote from Monique Sullivan
“Today I raced the keirin at the 2011 Pan-American Championships and finished third. The qualifying went smooth for me all day, and I was ready to fight for the win. I made a strong move with two laps to go. It may have been a bit early, but I was near the back of the group and I didn’t want to get stuck back there, so I went for it. I was in the lead until coming into the last home straight and I got swarmed. All in all I think I raced well, not a perfect keirin, but I was strong, aggressive and I went for it.

This marks the end of the 2010-2011 track season and the end of the first year of Olympic Qualification. I am very excited for my break and looking forward to going camping!”
