Teutenberg made it all too easy to take the stage, GC & Points classification lead
Yellow jersey holder Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (HTC Highroad Women) unleashed a devastating sprint to win stage two of the Tour of Chongming Island, and solidify her lead in both the General Classification and Points competition.

After a leisurely start until the second sprint point, the HTC Highroad squad took advantage of strong headwinds to form a high-speed train that split the field, with 18 riders joining the breakaway, including all of HTC Highroad. The break ended up finishing 1:40 ahead of the peloton. Teutenberg led the sprint in the last 100 metres, followed by Annemiek Van Vleuten (Nederland Bloeit) and her team mate Charlotte Becker. Vluenten is second in GC behind Teutenberg at 17 seconds; the best Chinese rider Zhao Na is 21st at 2:07.
Some of the younger riders are just half the age of Teutenberg, the oldest rider in the race at 36.
"I am the oldest rider so that I have more experienced in a sprint like this, but the top ten are very close, every of them could win the race," said Teutenberg, who is the defending champion of the Tour of Chongming Island.
"I'm happy to win the stage and also take over the yellow jersey. But every day is a new race and we have to be prepared for anything," Teutenberg added.
Team Nederland Bloeit team manager Jeroen Blijevens said "I believed Teutenberg is guaranteed to take the yellow jersey tomorrow, I don't see anyone who could beat Teutenberg in the bunch sprint."
The final stage will be 79.2 kilometres, starting and finishing in the central city of Chengqiao Town, and features three sprint zones. The riders will navigate a wide 7.2 kilometre circuit eleven times.
