Mountain bikers from all over Ontario will get to kick off the upcoming summer of riding in style, as some of Ontario's most popular mountain bike events are taking place at Albion Hills Conservation Area this month. The most popular stop of Canada's largest provincial mountain bike XC race series, the Plastiglas Ontario Cup, kicks things off June 12th, and North America's most popular 24 hour relay, the 24 Hours of Summer Solstice, takes place June 25-26.

Plastiglas Ontario Cup XC # 4, June 12th

The Plastiglas Ontario Cup Series has categories for all ages and ability levels. For Plastiglas Ontario Cup # 4, riders can expect to ride some of Albion's latest and greatest singletracks. Recently overhauled trails include Pinecomb Express, and High Roller. This equates to nearly 3 kilometres of brand new, never raced singletrack. In addition to fabulous amenities, Albion Hills also boasts one of the closest proximities to Toronto of all the Plastiglas Ontario Cups. The Pro/Elites race at 1:30 pm, and all other categories start at various times throughout the day. With over 700 riders expected - this event should not be missed.

The course will be open for pre-riding starting at 4:00 pm on Friday, June 3rd.

24 Hours of Summer Solstice, June 25th - 26th

The 24 hour events at Albion have now grown into two day festivals packed with FUN competition, entertainment, a Shimano Kid's Race, Kid's Zone, camping, bands, beer garden, and of course team camaraderie - all celebrating the outdoors, and the sport of mountain biking. Over 1800 riders are expected to descend on Albion Hills for this action packed weekend.

The flow, sustainability, and fun has never been better at Albion Hills Conservation Area with the fast 16 kilometre course rideable for mountain bikers of all ability levels. Several trails have been rebuilt with more sustainable techniques and fun features for any type of rider. The Summer Solstice trail in particular features massive banked corners, and flowy table-tops.

In addition to an amazing course, the Summer Solstice expo area is bigger and better than ever. Sporting Life will have a retail shop on-site, plus Shimano Canada will be offering free basic tune-ups on Shimano components. Also, great food services and massage services are available for the entire weekend. Plus, Albion Hills has invested over $1,000,000 to create an incredible Splash Pad swimming pool, which will be fun for the whole family.

The 24 Hours of Summer Solstice is nearly sold out, and with fabulous campsites still available, riders should not hesitate to be a part of Ontario's premier mountain bike weekend.
