The Bicycle Trade Association of Canada (BTAC) is pleased to announce that this year's ExpoCycle - Canada's largest and only national bike show - will be open to the public at Toronto's Direct Energy Centre on Saturday, September 8th.
 
ExpoCycle has long been the most important B2B event for the Canadian cycling industry, and has grown to become the fastest growing bicycle trade event in North America and an important stop on the global trade show calendar.

The new Public Day will offer new opportunities for Canadian bike trade retailers, suppliers and representatives to get in front of bicycle enthusiasts and consumers. This unique showcase, preceding the two-day industry event, will allow bike enthusiasts to preview more than 800 brands' bikes and accessories before they come to market next spring.

ExpoCycle 2012 will showcase a full range of cycling products: road, commuting, track, time trial, electric, mountain, cross country, BMX, touring, commuter, kids, unicycles and more.  Avid cyclists, enthusiasts and recreational participants will all have something to see. Show features include a Wheelie Kool Kids Demo Zone, live performances from Xtreme entertainer Trevor Bodogh, Ten Pack BMX Team Demo's, Cycling Education Classes and a fashion show.

"ExpoCycle showcases the newest and most innovative bikes, cycling accessories and offerings under one roof," says BTAC Executive Director Janet O'Connell. "Our experience opening the show to the public last year proved that it is a natural magnet for avid cyclists. This year, we want to extend our reach beyond that segment, and we've developed a campaign that speaks to a greater breadth of cyclists."

"We've created opportunities for exhibitors and retailers to engage the consumer in advance of Public Day through social media and other outreach vehicles," says O'Connell.

For suppliers and representatives, a presence at Public Day provides the opportunity to interact and influence consumers while in their booths, as well as work with their dealers to facilitate orders. Over 90 per cent of Canadian cycling retailers rate the show as "important" to "very important" to running their business successfully.
