The Fédération québécoise des sports cyclists (FQSC) is pleased to announce that Chantale Philie will join the Federation as Technical Director for the "Cycling for All" sector, effective as of December 3rd.

It is a double homecoming for Quebecer, who spent the last four years in Switzerland, where she served as coordinator for the Para Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). In addition to returning home, she returns to FQSC, where she has previously worked as Technical Director for BMX and Para-cycling. It should also be noted that Chantale Philie has worked in sports federations since 1998.

"It is a real pleasure to meet the team and see the trust of the FQSC for me," she said. "I will make every effort to meet the expectations and goals of this new position."

The" Cycling for All" sector experienced significant growth in recent years, as evidenced by the number of cyclosportive events organized in Quebec and elsewhere. The growth is also evidenced by the increasing popularity of cycling in all its forms.

"This is a job that suits me and for which all the experiences I have accumulated in cycling has well prepared me," Philie added.

The new position will include responsibility for managing the cyclosportif events schedule, as well as bicycle safety, which includes, among others, the FQSC Quebec Road Safety manual. Philie will also provide the main coordination of major events in which FQSC is a partner, develop a joint action plan with club cyclists and the work on the implementation of measures promoting safe cycling.

"I want to contribute to the evolution, development and promotion of this booming sector. Obviously there will be many things and many projects to structure and develop, but it is a wonderful challenge for me," stated Pjilie.

"The FQSC is very happy with the return of Chantale Philie within its organization. She already knows the FQSC, having worked here for three years, and the experience gained in the UCI is an undeniable advantage for the Cycling for All sector's further development, "said FQSC CEO, Louis Barbeau.
