February 10/13 12:32 pm - UCI Announces 2013 Elite MTB Teams

The UCI has released the names of the mountain bike teams that qualify for the highest level Elite status in 2013, based on rider rankings from 2012.  Fifteen teams for each of the Endurance and Gravity disciplines have been chosen, from a total of 127 mountain bike teams registered with the UCI for 2013.  The teams still need to confirm their status and pay registration fees by March 1st.

Teams in the Elite category receive free entry to all events on the UCI International calendar, including the World Cup series.  teams are obligated to enter at least one rider in every round of the World Cup.
