Trek Red Truck Racing Team is pleased to announce their 2016 roster. Their high performance program is focused on developing young cyclists on and off the bike.
TRT wants to build off of last year's successes, which saw six team members race on the World Stage (World Juniors, World Championships, Pan Am Championships). Other 2015 highlights included: taking multiple podiums at the Sea Otter Classic, National and Provincial championships and women's team captain, Denise Ramsden, winning the prestigious women's Gastown Grand Prix. Just as importantly, TRT contributed over $5,000 in scholarships to team riders pursuing post-secondary education.
For 2016, TRT continues to attract top talent from Canada's West Coast. On the women's side Olympian Denise Ramsden returns alongside stalwarts Leah Guloien, Sara Bergen, U23 sensation Kinley Gibson and Junior National Champion Gillian Ellsay. New to the team are Anna Talman and Gabbie Traxler - both of whom went to the 2015 World Juniors Championships as part of the Canadian Team.
Michael van den Ham
The men's roster features long time TRTers and cyclocross sensations Craig Richey and Michael van den Ham, along with powerhouse Dylan Davies and two-time team member Geordie Morrison. New faces include Kyle Buckosky, the 2014 Whistler Gran Fondo winner who comes fresh off of a season of UCI level racing in Europe. Newly minted from the TaG youth development team come Brendan Armstrong and Christian Knapton, and lastly, Ty Andrews, younger brother of former TRT Dustin Andrews, also makes his debut.
"It's such a talented group of riders. I know they are going to work so well together, push and support each other on and off the bike. We can't wait to start the racing season and build off of last years' strong results," says Team Director Steve Engh.
