Registration Open All Welcome
Calgary's only escorted city-wide bike ride

The 9th Annual Tour of Alberta Ride the Ride event will take place Sunday, August 27 for cyclists of all ages and abilities. Registration is now open for the city-wide event, organized by the Calgary Tour de Nuit Society, a not-profit cycling group dedicated to promoting the cycling lifestyle. There will be four distinct rides starting at various locations throughout Calgary which will all meet for a post-ride celebration at Stanley Park in the afternoon.

“This ride, as in previous years, affords an opportunity for Calgarians to enjoy cycling in a group, with friends and family, under traffic-free conditions on some major arterial roads,” says Gary Beaton, executive director of the Tour de Nuit Society.

“Participants will be able to discover the sensation of feeling complete safe on Calgary roads on a bicycle.’”

Beaton says the Ride the Road Tour is perfect for Calgarians who have not cycled for years. It’s an opportunity to ride with mountain bikers, sport cyclists, hardcore commuters and BMX kids – however it’s important to choose the family-friendly or appropriate ride for your abilities and those of your cycling companions.
