It is with great pleasure that the Forest City Velodrome and the City of London, Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce a program for the Youth of London. The Program will introduce Children to the fun of riding the Velodrome. London Youth Centers will bring up to 125 children and young adults to the Velodrome to participate in our Track 1 & 2 sessions over the next 3 months.

We anticipate that many of the children will advance to our very successful Velo-Kids sessions on Saturdays & Sundays. The cost of the program is "free" to all children who get involved with the program. Many of these children may not ever have the opportunity to ride a bicycle on a Velodrome.

Discovery Channel to Forest City Velodrome

On Wednesday afternoon and evening the Discovery Channel will be interviewing the 87 year old Albert Coulier, the builder of the Forest City Velodrome. Later in the evening, the producers will be showcasing our Junior program for a segment on the Discovery Channel. Then on Saturday, Discovery will be producing 2 segments. The first is on our Track 1 - Learn to Ride session. Beginning at 4pm during the short Track Championships the producers will be following up with the Juniors. Should be very exciting.

North American Short Track Championships

This is a 2 day racing event beginning at 4pm on Saturday Feb 18th and continuing Sunday Feb 19th at 9am. Both Sprint & Endurance events will be contested by racers from across Canada and the United States. 1982 World Keirin Champion, Gord Singleton from Niagara Falls, has entered the sprint competition that includes a Sprint Tournament during the evening session on Saturday.
