2006 Women's Prestige Cycling Series Opens Registration

Registration has now opened for the 2006 Women's Prestige Cycling Series. The 2006 Series will include three of North America's most prestigious stage races:

June 14 - 18 : Nature Valley Grand Prix
July 24 - 30 : International Tour de Toona
September 7 - 10 : CD&P Bermuda Grand Prix

The Women's Prestige Cycling Series has proven to be exceptionally popular with women's teams. It is a focus for the top US professionals, attracting teams like Webcor Platinum, Colavita Cooking Light, Victory Brewing and Team Lipton. The Series has also provided many regional teams with the opportunity to take their racing to the national level. And each year composite teams form specifically to be part of the Series.

In addition to the opportunity to showcase their sport in this women-only Series, many of the participating teams are motivated by the Series' “brass ring”: a subsidized trip to the Bermuda Grand Prix. Each year, the top ten teams following the International Tour de Toona receive free housing and a $2,000 travel grant to attend this premier race in one of the most popular vacation destinations in the World.

The registration deadline in May 1st.

About the Women's Prestige Cycling Series

The Women's Prestige Cycling Series began in 2004 with the goal of highlighting women's racing by giving them a spotlight that they don't have to share with the men. The Series grew out of meetings that began in Minnesota in 2003 at the first Yoplait Women's Cycling Summit Conference hosted at the Nature Valley Grand Prix. The Summits, now sponsored by Yoplait Nouriche, take place twice a year: at the Nature Valley Grand Prix in June and at the Interbike trade show in September.
