2nd Annual Eastern Ontario High School Mountain Bike RaceCourtesy Peter Meier, Event CoordinatorMay 19th, Prescott ONWe are pleased to announce the second annual Eastern Ontario High School Mountain Bike Race, to be held on May 19th, 2006. The event hosted by South Grenville Giants District High School will be held at Limerick Forest - north of Prescott. The event is aimed at beginners to the sport but will also be challenging for experienced riders. Mountain biking is an activity that can last a lifetime for fitness, wellness and fun with friends and family. Even though last year riders were from all ability levels, everyone had a day of fun- filled action. There are medals for all classes: cadet boys, cadet girls, junior boys, junior girls, senior boys and senior girls. There will be a high school trophy for the school that obtains the most points. This is the 2006 event website. year even the volunteers had fun and enjoyed a social gathering afterwards. The organizing group does not profit from the event. Some people questioned why the organizing group is putting this race on. We're doing it to give back to the sport. It was rewarding to see new riders experience the thrill of racing.Bike shops/businesses are welcome to donate swag for the riders. The swag is given out to both medal winners and randomly to all participants.Last year's event was a success. We hope you can attend this year, which we anticipate to be much larger. Don't miss out on the action.
