A cyclist attacked by a bear in Banff park on Friday night has been identified as Greg Flaaten. Greg, a one time contributor and friend of Canadian Cyclist, is said to be in non-life threatening condition after undergoing surgery at a Calgary hosptial.

According to the Calgary Sun and Calgary Herald the attack was interrupted by 2 friends and colleagues who knew the bike and stayed around long enough to hear his pleas for help.
