Cycling Tops WADA Doping Infractions List
By Evi Arsenault

With the recent Spanish drug scandal Operation puerto, alongside the numerous and almost constant high profile doping cases, it's no surprise that unfortunately, cycling top the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) list for doping infractions according to a recent report by the Associated press.

In a comparison of the most frequently tested sports - cycling, football, baseball, track and field, in 2005 cycling had the most positive doping cases. WADA's thirty-three world wide laboratories reported the top four sports as: cycling's 482 positive samples versus 390 in baseball, 343 in football and track and field 342.

Globally, positive anti-doping test increased 34.4% from 2004 to 2005; with one in every two samples being positive for steroids.
