Four days before the Nella/Cramaro Hamilton Classic. Only two days before the Entry Deadline (Friday, July 5th). Elite racers, many on a rest week after Quebec, are slowly putting themselves, and their teams on the road for this first edition of the Hamilton Classic as a Bicycle Stage Race.

The Hamilton Classic has been a tradition in town for many years. A big money, City Hall criterium. On its own, or as part of the 2005 Niagara Classic (SCCC), it has thrilled riders and fans alike. A criterium final is not part of this years Hamilton Classic. However, the stage race format with "criterium like" circuit road races (complete with a finish line festival tent and barbeque), along with $8 500.00 in cash prizes should make this event challenging for the racers and interesting for the seasoned fan.

The Hamilton Cycling Club regrets that day licenses will not be offered for this race. Logistical concerns regarding course security lead to an early decision to limit entries to fully licenced participants.

The following information is taken from the Technical Guide (latest update found at www.hamiltoncycling.com).

Entries: UCI licensed racers may enter, Deadline-July 7th. No day licenses.

Prizes: Hamilton Cycling Club Medals (Stage & General Classification - 1st, 2nd & 3rd) for all Categories.
