Sudtirol Dolomiti Superbike World Cup Marathon Villabassa, Italy

3 Canadians competed at in the World Cup races: Mathew Bodkin (Whistler) in the men's, Marg Fedyna (Edmonton) and Lesley Clements (Whistler) in the women's. Both Men & women raced for 119.9 km (with 3800 metres elevation gain)

My race partner Michael Hintringer from Kelowna and I (from Edmonton) raced as a team in the Jeantex Tour Transalp (July 1st) which is the road cycling version of the famous Transalp Challenge. We finished overall 5th mixed team and had a 2nd place podium finish of Day 6. The race is along the same format of TA with 7 days, 830 km, 22000 metres elevation gain. It was awesome training for the World Cup! There were 3 other Canadian teams in the race, all from the Okanagan area. It is a great race for any cyclist that wants to experience Tour de France type climbs and descents, day after day!
