Hesjedal Injures Foot at Tour of Germany

Ryder Hesjedal dropped out early in the third stage of the Tour of Germany after an official ran over his foot with a car after stage 2!

"After the finish of stage 2 I was just getting a drink in the finish area and next thing I know there is a car tire sitting completely on top of my foot!! A little scary!!

"In the same moment that I thought it would be over the driver just panicked and didn't do anything, just letting the car sit there as I really got worried (yelling also!) until he finally got it in to reverse and backed off.

"It was anti-inflammatories and ice for the next 12 hours. Luckily nothing seems to be broken and should be training tomorrow. Decided with the team and doctor not to push through Germany with the chance of causing more problems. Still continuing as planned for San Sebastion and Vuelta!!"
