Escape Velocity and Soliton cycling clubs have both been pursuing junior development, club-based cycling initiatives, and running high quality races for the British Columbia cycling community for almost 2 decades each. Over the past three years, Soliton and Escape Velocity have cooperated on many initiatives including running track races at the Burnaby Velodrome, running the 10-race Spring Series in the Fraser Valley, and supporting junior development through the developmental Escape Velocity organization (dEVo).

The merger officially took place on Aug. 11, 2006 when licenses were switched and both clubs joined forces to host the BC Time Trial Championship in Squamish, B.C. The new club consists of 122 members and is steadily growing by maintaining its focus on supporting junior development (dEVo), running quality races, and encouraging initiatives that support the growth of the sport.

For 2007, Escape Velocity is planning on expanding its junior development program (dEVo), fielding a category I, II men's team at regional and local events in British Columbia, instituting a women's development project (dEVas), and continuing to host the following races: the Spring Series, World Tuesday Night Championship Series, Warp Speed Time Trial, B.C. Time Trial Championships, Wednesday night track series at the Burnaby Velodrome and EV Grand Prix of Cyclocross

Founded in August 1989, Team Escape Velocity is a Vancouver, BC based cycling club committed to promoting and developing the sport of cycling in Canada. With membership ranging from novice Cat. 5's and juniors to National Champions, we pride ourselves on our community involvement, race organization, youth development, and leadership activities.
