A great day for cyclocross racing saw 42 riders come out for a training race on the Goldstick Park in Edmonton. The course featured a fast mud section, a long run up and lots of twists and tricky turns on the Goldstick ski trails.

In the A group - Tim Heemskirk (United) kept up his domination of the Alberta cross scene with Peter Toth (ERTC) in second and Mike Bidniak (Juventus) in third. Both Toth and Bidniak benefited from Aaron Schooler (ERTC) rolling a tubular in the closing stages of the race.

In the B group, Roger Clemens (United) rode away from Peter Knight (United) with Connor Witzke (Juventus) edging out Susan Copeland (Juventus) for third. Top three women were all from Juventus - Susan Copeland followed by Gail Wozney and Joy Mekechuk.

Hard luck of the day goes to Kyle Harris (Juventus) who rolled a tubular off, got a new front wheel then proceeded to snap his seatpost while remounting on the next lap. A sign not to use light carbon stuff in cross races.

Thanks to the volunteers for course set up and marshalling and to the City of Edmonton for permitting on such short notice.
