Joe DeMaeyer Passes Away

We are sad to report that a long time member of the Canadian cycling community, Joe DeMaeyer passed away yesterday after a long illness. Joe DeMaeyer was a racer in the early days of track racing in the Hamilton and Delhi scene. He returned to the racing community in the 1980's as a commissaire (I took the commissaire's exam with him, and officiated many races with Joe). Joe was always an enthusiastic supporter of the sport, and even when illness began to take its toll, he could still be found at the races, sitting in a chair with his usual big smile. Joe will be missed.

Visitation: 2-4pm and 7-9pm Tuesday
H. Verhoeve Funeral Home,
40 Queen St.,
Langton, Ontario

Funeral: 10 am Wednesday

24 Albert St.
Langton, Ontario

We invite members of the cycling community to share their thoughts and memories in the Forums.
