The Ontarion Cycling Association has announced the 2007 Provincial Championships

Provincial Track
June 1-3
The Provincial Track Championships return to the friendly confines of the Forest City Velodrome in London. The three day event will feature the best track racers in the province. Last year's championships saw a participation resurgence - hosting more racers than the last four championships combined.

Provincial Criterium
July 15
This year's criterium travels east to Bike Race Ottawa (BRO) and its Capital City Criterium. BRO, who has Organized bike races for over 30 years, is currently looking at more challenging courses in the National Capital region. Set for the day after the famed OBC Grand Prix, this year's Provincial Criterium will feature the best of Ontario and the best of Quebec.

Provincial Hill Climb
August 18-19
For the third consecutive year, the Provincial Hill Climb will be a part of the Jewel in the Wilderness Ontario Cup in Elliot Lake. The 4km course is a true test for a Provincial Hill Climb champion.

Provincial Road Race
August 26
If you are planning to sit-in until the last lap, then sprint your way to the podium - you will be sorely disappointed. Described as "Effingham Hill times Three", this Milton area race engulfs all of the Niagara Escarpment. Organized by the Midweek Cycling Club, the Provincial Road Race will be one of the most challenging courses in recent memory.

Provincial DH
September 1-2
Sir Bikealot Racing is returning to host the Provincial DH Championships. No word yet on the location but it is sure to be another smashing success.

Provincial Time Trial
September 8
Wide, smooth roads in a cycling friendly region, the Provincial Time Trial returns to Wellandport for a third consecutive year. With a free meal, indoor facilities and the St. Catharines Cycling Club organising skills - this event will indeed have another record turnout.

Provincial BMX
September 8-9
Always a favourite race to attend, this year's finals will be held in Milton at Track 2000. With a huge resurgence in provincial membership, the 2007 Provincial Championships will the be the race of the series. A long, lung bursting track, Track 2000 tests the limits of all the riders and has great spectating and is in a natural park like setting.

Provincial 4X
September 15
For the third consecutive year, the OCA will have a Provincial 4X Championships. Organized by Sir Bikealot Racing the event will feature competitive racing in a fun atmosphere. No official location has been set but Organizers are leaning towards a gravity fed course.

Provincial MTB
September 16
After a two year sabbatical, the Provincial MTB Championships returns to Hardwood Hills. Organized by Chico Racing, the event will feature riders from as far away as Thunder Bay. No word yet if Hardwood's famed "Boneshaker" will be included in the course.

Provincial Cyclo-Cross
November 25
Organized by the dynamic Superfly duo of National Espoir Cyclo-Cross Champion Kyle Douglas and Albion Hills Trails Kingpin Sean Ruppel, the course is sure to be creative and capitalise on every unique contour of the conservation area. We can't guarantee the snow or snowmen obstacles as the infamous '03 Provincial Championships at Albion Hills but we can guarantee a lot of fun... and maybe a bowl of chili.
