Happy Birthday To...

Lesley Tomlinson, today.

Update On CCA

We have more details on the Events Department situation. It turns out that the CCA did not dot all their i‚s and cross all their t‚s before announcing the formation of an Events Department (to take control of coordinating and subcontracting national level events such as Canada Cups and National Championships). Such a change requires an amendment to the CCA Constitution. This could have happened at the CCA AGM, however, the CCA staff neglected to inform the voting members of the proposed changes within the required time before the AGM. Thus, no Events Department.

In other CCA news, it looks like, for the second year in a row all three national championships - road, mountain and track - might be in a single province, Québec this time. Winnipeg was scheduled for the Track championships, but has declined, and the backup is Bromont. The word is the Tim Hortons would prefer another location, such as Calgary, so the roving Track Championships may be on the move again...

By the way, the Road Championships will be in Sherbrooke (reputed to be a killer course), and Mountain Bike at Camp Fortune outside Hull.
