Pan Am Track Championships Trials Reminder

This is a reminder for athletes interested in attending the national team track trials in Burnaby, BC, to contact the CCA. Please email CCA High Performance Director Kris Westwood at kris.westwood@canadian-cycling.com.

These trials, to be held at the Burnaby velodrome from May 9-11, will be used for selection to the Pan Am track championships team, as well as to identify talented athletes for inclusion in future national team programs. The trials will be run by Cycling BC head coach Richard Wooles in partnership with CCA national coach Houshang Amiri.

Please find below the schedule for the trials:

Wednesday 9th of May 2007 - 9 am to 12 pm

• Build track (10 minutes if needed)
• Warm-up (20 minutes)
• Preparation time before first rider off (20 minutes)
• Flying start 200m TT (40 minutes)
• Flying 500m into 2 or 3 km (40 minutes)
• Anybody wishing to do another flying 200m time (20 minutes)
• End Day 1

Thursday 10th of May 2007 - 12 pm to 3 pm

• Build track (10 minutes if needed)
• Warm-up (20 minutes)
• Preparation time before first rider off (20 minutes)
• Standing start 250m or 500m (rider's choice) (40 minutes)
• Standing start pursuits, 3000m Women/4000m Men (40 minutes)
• Anybody wishing to do another standing 250m or 500m time (20 minutes)
• End Day 2

Friday 11th May 2007 - Session times to be confirmed

• Build track (10 minutes if needed)
• Warm-up (20 minutes)
• Preparation time before first rider off (20 minutes)

This will be an open day. Riders will be given the opportunity to try any trial, but a schedule will need to be worked out the previous day. The Team Pursuit and Team Sprint will be given opportunities to qualify, and all riders will be able to try all other times again, if we are given notice on May 10th by the end of the session.
