The Mountain Bike Supercross at the Toronto International Bicycle Show brought out the top riders in Canada including Cody Began and Eric Cseff. After an excellent weekend of racing on a tight indoor course I have the final results for you:

Junior Men

1. Matt Nielson
2. Sean Ainley
3. Paul Berger

Senior Men

1. Alan Box, from Penticton B.C.
2. Mike "Trashcan" Alexander
3. George Scase

Senior Women

1. Cecile Gambin
2. Lalena Desautels

Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, spectators and participants that made this a very positive first event.

New Sponsor for Ritchey

Chrissy Redden, back in Ontario for a few days before heading down for the Sea Otter Classic, dropped us a line to let us know that her team (Team Ritchey) has hooked up with Yahoo! - the internet search engine guys. She says the team is now called Ritchey Yahoo. I wonder if this means the riders are Yahooligans?

Hobson Injury Update

We have heard from Leigh Hobson's family that the broken collarbone Leigh suffered in the first stage of the Street Skills Women's Cycling Classic is a crack, so that her recovery should be fairly quick. Suzy Pryde and Yvonne MacGregor were also injured in the same crash. Incidentally, Hobson was listed as finishing 14th in the stage (in the pack), as was the other Canadian taking part in the race - Anne Samplonius in 23rd place. Anne was 6th in the second stage (same time as the winner), and is 16th overall after 2 stages (14 seconds back of leader Hanka Kupfernagel).
