The Alberta track season gets going full blast on May 26 and 27 with the Cyclemeisters/Team Bow Cycle Clean Up at the Glenmore Velodrome in Calgary. This is the first event in the Journal Cup series for 2007 and the qualifying event for selection of juniors to represent Alberta at track nationals in July.

We'll have a full weekend of racing with sprints, keirins and kilos for the power riders and scratch, pursuit and points races for the endurance folks. ABA ability categories will apply for all events. Event details are available at www.cyclemeisters.com Pre-registration is open until 9 PM Thursday, May 24. Race day registration is available for an extra $10 but we'd prefer advance registration to get the start lists organized.

We'll have a strong field in all categories and welcome out of town or out of province athletes to bolster the fields.

Lastly, we except to offer a rich prize purse. Calgary Bicycle Track League has donated the track time and Cyclemeisters have agreed to use all the entry fees, net of race costs, to fund the prize purse. Last year, this meant a $2,000 purse to split among the top riders on the weekend.

The long range weather forecast is good so come out for some hot racing.
