Update on Downhiller Katrina Strand Injury

Canadian downhiller Katrina Strand sent us an update on her recovery from a crash last month.

I separated my shoulder (3rd degree) and broke a couple ribs 5 weeks ago while dirt jumping in California. I've been healing really well and am already casually riding my bike but it will be awhile before I reach full recovery. The ribs are pretty much healed but my shoulder is still on the mend. Everyone who has had any sort of ligament tear knows how long they take to feel 'normal' again.

I can't commit to any race plans yet because it is still too new. I don't want to come back too soon, I want to come back strong and ready to ride like I ride. Of course it's disapointing but at the same time it's part of the game I play and it is just my turn.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me happy healing thoughts!
