Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå Takes Time Off

Statement from Multivan Merida:

The reigning mountain bike world and Olympic champion Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå pauses the ongoing racing season in order to return to Norway this Monday. For multiple weeks, Dahle Flesjå has been suffering from inexplicable stomach problems and is going to undergo comprehensive medical tests at her place of residence, Stavanger. The Norwegian has spent her time since Offenburg's World Cup race in Champéry, Switzerland, where the next World Cup race is scheduled to take place next weekend. Now the Norwegian has decided to skip Sunday's race in order to build up for the season from scratch after a break.

" This decision to pause in the middle of the season has been very hard to take for me. But I know from experience that my health is the most important element on the road to success", Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå comments on her situation.

Gunn-Rita Dahle is considered to be the world's best mountain bike racer, having won virtually all titles that were at stake in recent years. The Norwegian has no less than 25 World Cup victories and seven world championship titles under her belt. She hopes to return to racing in her best shape in order to defend her two world championship titles.
