The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce & Visitor and Convention Bureau and its partners launched the Pilot Year of the Toronto-Niagara Bike Train with a media event at Union Station on Tuesday, June 5th. The Bike Train is a new tourism initiative that will introduce bike racks onboard select VIA Rail Canada departures between Toronto and Niagara Falls this summer.

"The McGuinty government is pleased to invest $57,000 in this project to help build bicycling tourism opportunities in the Niagara Region," said Minister of Tourism Jim Bradley. "I encourage Ontarians to see all the great things there are to do in Ontario this summer."

"The Toronto-Niagara Bike Train Initiative will significantly improve transportation access for cyclists between the two regions and further develop the Niagara Region as a major cycle tourism destination," said Janice Thomson, Executive Director of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce & Visitor and Convention Bureau.

The Bike Train provides travellers with a unique and sustainable way to discover the Niagara Regions renowned tourism and cycling opportunities. The price for a round-trip on the Bike Train between Toronto and Niagara Falls is $59 including taxes and bike rack reservation fees.
