Year after year Kokanee Crankworx has proven to be unlike any other mountain bike festival in the world. With cash prizes totaling $44,000 and hundreds of prizes to give away, this year's event will keep the estimated audience of 215,000 screaming for more.
Events this year include the Slopestyle @ Kokanee Crankworx, Volkswagen Biker X, Garbanzo Downhill, Jim Beam Air Downhill, Canadian Open Downhill, TELUS Dual Slalom and WomenzWorx.
Organizers have introduced a new registration format for the increasingly popular Slopestyle @ Kokanee Crankworx event. The top 24 riders from last year's Slopestyle finals are guaranteed entry to the qualifiers. All other riders will have the opportunity to join the 2006 finalists through a random lottery format.
The Slopestyle @ Kokanee Crankworx is always the most exciting event of the summer, says Jeremy Roche, General Manager of Kokanee Crankworx. This year's course promises to be more exciting than ever with the addition of new lines and features like the Satellite Dish, the Hitching Post and the Giro Trailer Wall Ride. With the general Kokanee Crankworx frenzy and an amazing field of athletes, this year's Slopestyle is guaranteed to be the best ever.
Kokanee Crankworx's event line-up has been expanded for 2007. New this year are the TELUS Dual Slalom on Friday, July 27, the Canadian Open Downhill on Sunday, July 29 as well as the much anticipated WomenzWorx, July 23- 24. Our main goal is to promote and encourage women's mountain biking in a fun, friendly and progressive atmosphere, say's Lisa Lefroy- organizer of WomenzWorx.
