Alberta Youth Road Championships 2007

Time Trial and Road Race
Location: Madden Alberta
Date: September 1st and 2nd 2007

Directions to Madden:
• From Calgary Take highway #2 north and from Edmonton take highway #2 south until you come to Crossfield and take highway 574 west to Madden.

Registration:
• Please register in Person on the day of the event.
• There is a $20/Race or $40 Series fee for the Youth Road Championships.
• Registration opens at 8:00 AM and will close at 8:45

The Time Trial:
• South on Highway 772 approximately 7-8 Kilometers.
• A Neutral Wheel Pit will be at the Turn
• No Parking on the Course
• Riders will depart on 1 min intervals Starting at 9:01 AM
• First Aid will be available at the Start/Finish Area
• 1 Race Number per rider
• Results will be posted in the Oval Tent near the Community Center Parking Area
• Awards for the stage will follow the final race of the day.
• Please note that roll out and gear restrictions are in affect (52-14)

The Road Race:
• The Course is north of Madden; west on TWP 290, north on highway 766, west on TWP 292 and south on RR 30.
• 1 lap is 10 K
• Feed Zone will be along the lower part of TWP 290
• First Aid will be available between the feed zone and finish area or at the Community Center between races.
• Results will be posted in the Oval Tent in the Community Center Parking Area
• Awards for the stage will follow the final race of the day.
• Athletes, Parents and Spectators are advised that parking along the route is not permitted. Be prepared to Walk or ride to the Feed Zone…..(1-2 K at most)
• Please note that roll out and gear restrictions are in affect (52-14)

Road Race Distances:
• U15 Male and Female 40 K
• U17 & Junior Female 60 K
• U17 & Junior Male 90 K

Criterium
Location: Garrison Woods SW Calgary
Date: September 3rd 2007

Directions to Garrison Woods & Battleford Park Circuit:
• From north Calgary take Crowchild Trail south and from south Calgary take Crowchild trail north until you come to Flanders Ave, to enter the barracks you need to pass through a security check point; take Caen Ave, turn right onto Quesnay Wood Dr, turn left onto Battleford Ave and follow the road along until you see a gravel parking lot on your Right.
• The Criterium Circuit encompasses Battleford Park and is approximately 1000M Long.

Registration:
• Athletes will register for the Criterium on Monday morning between 8:45 and 9:45
• There is a $20/Race or $40 Series fee for the Youth Road Championships.

Racing starts:
• 10:00 U15 Male and Female 20 Laps
• 10:45 U17 Female and Junior Female 25 Laps
• 11:45 U17 Male and Junior Male 35 Laps
• Please note that roll out and gear restrictions are in affect (52-14)

Awards and Event Banquet:
The Award ceremony and BBQ will follow the final event on Monday. The Provincial Champion will be awarded to the best rider in each category overall.
