A composite team of riders from Ontario are heading to the 5 stage 600km Tobago International Cycling Classic from October 4th to 7th. The team is generously sponsored by benchmarkgroup.ca and mazurcoaching.com.

This year, teams from Germany, USA, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and Trinidad will be battling for top honours riding under hot and humid temperatures over challenging terrain.

Darko Ficko is looking to repeat his 2000 1st stage time trial victory and hold on to the jersey until the final epic stage 5 course including category 1/2/3 climbs at Castara, Bloody Bay, L'anse Fourmi, Charlottevill, and Speyside. The showcase climb of the final stage is at Palatuvier, which starts as a stabbing incline and transitions to a punishing and enduring grade for 10km.

U23 riders Kevin Hazzard, and Brandon Throop look to take honours in the young rider's jersey competition.

Stage 1 - 14km Time Trial
Stage 2 - Circuit Race 110km (10 laps - minor rolling inclines)
Stage 3 - Circuit Race 140km (5 laps - one 2km category 3 climb per lap)
Stage 4 - Circuit Race 100km (17 laps - minor rolling inclines)
Stage 5 - Tour of Tobago 120km (mountainous terrain - category 1/2/3 climbs - Palatuvier 10km ascent)
