Win a stunning Karma B-Line Track Bike in Raffle
With the I.W.E Friday Night Racing series underway and a flurry of Learn to Ride clinics recently completed, this can only mean one thing! Just three more weeks until the Burnaby Velodrome Club’s Fall Challenge! We have decided to increase incentive for women racers by offering 50% off registration fees. This is in addition to the already announced women-only races, which includes both Open and Novice categories. We are expecting at least fifteen racers in this category and are looking forward to some exciting racing!

BVC Raffle Returns
Back by popular demand is the BVC raffle! Long-time Burnaby Velodrome supporter Karma Metal Works has offered up a track frameset as the grand prize. The raffle winner gets to choose size and colour of a ‘steel-is-real’ Karma B-Line frame with carbon fork worth $800. It’s the bike of choice for local phenom and multiple junior national track champion Cody Campbell. Another sought after prize is a free 2008-09 BVC Membership, worth $400. Also up for grabs is a Beyond Fitness Club Power Training seminar featuring power-training expert Hunter Allen, worth $150. New prizes are being added daily to this list, so show up, buy a couple of tickets, and get lucky!

BC Cup Final
The Fall Challenge is the last stop in the inaugural BC Cup series for track. Come out and see if Matt Chater can hold onto first place in both the A Endurance and A Sprint categories! Come cheer on BVC member Luis Bernhardt as he tries to wrest the B Endurance title from Victoria strongman Mike Cooper. And see if local EV rider Adam Barlev has enough points to stay ahead of fast charging Mike Sidic in the C Endurance category.

Madison Cup
We have been receiving incredible interest for our inaugural Madison Cup. Arguably the most exciting event track cycling has to offer, it will be held for both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ categories and will be held over four events. The first event will be scratch race madison , followed by back-to-back races in which each madison partner competes in one of either a scratch race or an elimination style race. The final event is a traditional points race Madison . Overall winners will be determined based on points garnered from results in each of the four races.
