2008 Giro Route Unveiled

The organizers of the Giro d'Italia - RCS Sport - have released the details of next year's Giro. Totaling 3423.8 kilometres, the Giro is particularly laden with time trials; starting with a team time trial for the Prologue, and three individual ones (including the final stage). After opening stages for the sprinters, the climbers take over on Stage 14. Stage 15 is likely the hardest, with six ranked climbs, but the day after the riders face an uphill time trial. This Giro is also noteworthy for covering almost every region of Italy, starting in Sicily and ending near the Swiss border in Milano.
