2008 BC Bike Race Sold Out

The BC Bike Race "the Ultimate Singletrack Experience" has SOLD OUT. In only its second year of operation this seven day mountain bike stage race, from Victoria to Whistler has joined the ranks of its peers, and SOLD OUT.

Last year's winner Chris Eatough said "BC Bike Race was amazing, best bike race in the World, no doubt". As a 6 time Solo 24 hour World Champion he should know.

June 28 - July 4, 2008 this year's event is ready to blast off. Situated in one of the Meccas of mountain biking, the BC Bike Race takes advantage of all the geographic features that the Coast of British Columbia has to offer; spectacular views, ocean crossings on the BC ferries, and of course we can't forget the amazing trails built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers.

It would seem that the demand for challenging cycling events is high. With only two events of this kind (7 day mountain bike stage races) in North America and both are sold out. Other events the world over are experiencing similar numbers. For the last few years La Ruta de los Conquistadores has also sold out and that event is located in Costa Rica.

What is it about these events that drives people, motivates them to undertake such a challenge? "It's the sense of completion at the end that really makes the difference, when you set yourself a major goal for the year, you enable your training to have a purpose and then through the event your achievement is really about yourself overcoming a challenge" said Dean Payne founder and president of BC Bike Race.

There is a wait list forming, as with all athletic events and especially ones of these magnitudes, things arise and spots move around. If you are still interested, please join the wait list and stay posted for updates.
