Bell Takes Silver in Pan Am Omnium

Canada's two rider track squad of Zach Bell and Svein Tuft continue to rack up medals at the Pan Am Track Championships in Montevideo, Uruguay, with Bell taking the silver medal in the Omnium event yesterday. The Omnium consists of five events (200m TT, 3000m Pursuit, 5K Scratch Race, 15K Points Race and 1000m TT), with the rider having the lowest accumulated number of points taking the gold medal. Bell actually tied Carlos Uran of Colombia with 15 points each, but Uran got the gold medal based on the lowest combined time in the Pursuit and Kilo. Both Uran and Bell had 15 points, with Angel Colla (Argentina) taking the bronze with 16 points.
