BC Provincial Championship Road Race News

Win great cash prizes and a luxury a Trip to 2008 Tour de France!

The 2008 edition of the BC Cancer Foundation's Westside Cycling Classic, presented by the Airey Group, goes Sunday, June 1st, with racers being invited for the first time to register as fundraisers in support of cancer research in B.C. This years race purse will top FIFTEEN THOUSAND dollars.

Online registration is now live at: www.cycleforcancer.com. This year, for the first time, racers can forego the registration fee and instead sign on to fundraise a minimum of $300 with colleagues, family & friends and raise funds for the BC Cancer Foundation, to support leading research at the BC Cancer Agency. All donations will receive a charitable tax receipt.

As fundraisers, racers are then eligible to win unique and exciting incentive prizes, including a private dinner and ride with Axel Merckx, Alex Steida, Trevor Linden and Ross Rebagliati. The prize for the top fundraiser is a luxury all expenses paid trip for two to the 2008 Tour de France!

This year's BC Provincial Road Race Championship will be followed by the 36km BC Cancer Foundation Westside Cycling Classic Community Ride in the afternoon, led by Merckx and friends Steida, Linden and Rebagliati, which will be a perfect opportunity to warm down safely with family and friends and have some fun on closed roads!

The 2008 Westside Cycling Classic is a partnership between the BC Cancer Foundation and the Wedgewood Cycling Team. The BC Cancer Foundation raises funds to support research and enhancements to patient care at the BC Cancer Agency, throughout B.C.
