June 16/08 4:38 am - TWO Days Left to Register for the BC Provincial Track Championships!

Posted by Editoress on 06/16/08

With the 2008 BC Provincial Track Championships beginning in less than 4 days, riders are reminded of the mandatory online registration, which closes on Wednesday, June 18th.

The fields are beginning to fill up, with excellent representation in all categories from local racers in Victoria -- more mainland racers are expected and needed!

Also a reminder of that in addition to all Junior, Senior/Elite and Master events, we'll be running Citizen/Category4/5 races in conjunction with the 'elite' events - so plenty of racing is available and open to all! As a bonus for these newer and Citizen-level entrants, we've reduced the fee from $70 down to $45.

Let's all show our support for track racing in BC, especially at this critical time for the Victoria velodrome, which is under threat of being decommissioned. Riders from out of the province and country are welcome to join in as well, though cannot qualify for medals.

Registration (which is mandatory!), schedule, race bible and more can be found HERE

The Save Our Velodrome section, with an online petition (sign now if you haven't!) and more information about this issue can be found here:
