Forest City Velodrome London ON

3 Ontario Cycling Clubs have made recent donations to the Forest City Velodrome in London Ontario to help support Youth Cycling.

The Ottawa Bicycle Club made a very generous donation to the Youth Cycling programs at the 138m indoor Velodrome. The donation will help continue the recruitement of young athletes into cycling. Over the past 3 years the OBC have sent many riders to participate in Women's Camps and the Junior Development Program at the Velodrome.

With the recent success of the Ontario Team at Track Nationals 2 weeks ago in Burnaby, 6 cyclists were graduates of the OBC. We look forward to continuing the growth and have many more young cyclists take advantage of the monthly camps and clinics that are organized by the Forest City Velodorme.

Closer to London, the Waterloo Cycling Club, donated 2 fully equipped track bikes from True North Cycles in Guelph. These 2 beautiful Green, White and Black track bikes are in the rental fleet at the FCV and will be used by members of the WCC whenever they come to the Velodrome for Track 1 sessions or general recreational riding sessions.

The London Cenntenial Wheelers and London Cycling Club have both made donations to allow their members to participate in the introductory sessions at the track.

The FCV welcomes all members of the Waterloo, Ottawa and London Clubs to take advantage of the Winter programs which will commence in October.

If it's been a while since you have been to the Velodrome, now is a great time to come out and see the benefits of training on the track will provide for the 2009 cycling season.
