Blizzard Bike Club Fort St. John, BC

Sept. 14th

Pat Ferris won his 4th Club Mountain Bike Championship, Sunday, on the River circuit. He did 6 laps in a time of 50:23 minutes. Gary Hilderman was second at 51:25 and Roger St. Jean third at 52:39. Sam Keats was 4th at 1:00:05 hours and Barb Polehoykie 5th at 1:07:23. Adam Currie did 4 laps in 55:17.

Riders left the start under ideal fall conditions. 2003 champion Stephen Ferris pulled away early for a big lead until a flat tire put him out of the race at the 4th lap. Gary Hilderman and Pat Ferris dueled for the lead. Hilderman had a healthy lead at the 3rd lap. Ferris chipped away at the lead until passing him at lap 5 to take the lead and hold it to the finish.

This was the 14th edition of the club mountain bike championship. Robin Sipe was the first winner back in 1995.

Coming up:
-Thursday Cyclo cross at 6 pm at the high school.
-Sunday is Cyclo-cross at NPSS at 2 pm.

A group of Blizzards are headed to Edmonton for two provincial cyclo-cross events.
This is in preparation for the National Cyclo cross Championships in Edmonton October 11 and 12th.
