This Sunday, October 5th, the first annual Nanaimo Hillclimb Championship takes place, rain or shine, on a challenging 5.5km route on Duomont and Weigle Roads. Registration opens at 9am at Pleasant Valley Community Centre on Duomont Road. The men's and women's races will be contested on an age standard formula, with 6.6 seconds per year being deducted from all 40+ years and up finishing times. The fastest actual times for each category will be regarded as initial records for the course.
After the medal presentation, there will be an awards ceremony for this season's OBB Wheelers Midweek time trial series.
For those wishing to pre-ride the course, it is already marked clearly with each kilometer indicated.
