Escape Velocity Hires New dEVo Coordinator & Coach

Escape Velocity (EV) has committed to grow its junior program in 2009 by hiring Jeff Ain as its youth coach and program coordinator.

Jeff Ain will be responsible for coordinating a comprehensive rider recruitment and education program that works closely with the British Columbia Cycling Association to support club-level and elite rider development.

The dEVo program provides young road riders in the Lower Mainland with a team atmosphere and supportive club structure within which to develop their skills and community connections. Escape Velocity is committed to the Canadian Cycling Association's long-term athlete development model and is a pioneer in youth cycling development in Canada; providing programs for children as young as 6 through dEVo BMX and at the elite-level through the Louis Garneau EVolution racing team.

"We're really fortunate to have Jeff move from racing to coaching at this important time in dEVo's history" says, Brian Storey, Escape Velocity, dEVo Coordinator. Jeff is a graduate of the dEVo program and has raced as a Category 2 rider since 2006. In recent years Jeff has shifted his focus towards coaching. He has individually coached elite riders, run learn to race clinics at the Burnaby Velodrome and is an active board member with the Burnaby Velodrome.
