CanAmQue Challenge

Friday Nov. 28th to Saturday Nov. 29 th

The Forest City Velodrome is pleased to announce the CanAmQue Challenge 2008. The 138m indoor cycling facility will see many of Canada's top cyclists compete against one another to see who will reach the top step of the podium.

Many riders from the province of Quebec including Canadian Junior champion, Laurie-Anne Dupont Renault , Shanie Bergeron, Jean-Michael Lachance and Lawrence Laroux have entered and will be testing their fitness against top riders from Ontario and the United States. Joe Brennan and Rob Kowel from the world famous T-Town Velodrome in Allentown Pennsylvania and Cody Brown and Nick Corbin from Detroit will be on hand for the U.S.
The local London riders have a real shot at coming to the finish and jumping on the podium with entrants like Canadian Junior Sprint Champion Allan Leparskas, 3 time Canadian Silver medalist Lisa Perlmutter and University of Western Ontario's Scott Lundy.

Spectators will have a full compliment of Olympic style races which include the Match Sprint Series. This will feature riders riding above 65 kph in a effort to out think and out duel there opponents. For the endurance racers the top 12 riders making it through the qualifying heats will do battle in the 138 lap Feature event of the night to determine the CanAmQue Challenge winner.

Ontario Madison Championship

Saturday Dec. 6th

Open to all Madison Racers.... American riders welcome

5 events make up the Championship in "Elite" and "AA" Divisions

Event #1.... Flying 2 laps (no exchanges, 2nd rider accross the line is timed)
Event #2.... 7 lap Madison Pursuit (from starting gate w/ exchanges)
Event #3.... Miss & Out (one rider from each team)
Event #4.... 10 Lap Sprint (the other rider from each team)
Event #5.... "AA" 15 minute Madison, "Elite" 30 minute Madison

Points will be awarded like an Omnium, 1 point to win an event, 2 pts for second, and so on.

Depending on entries we may have to limit the field (more info to follow)

"AA" the FCV will set up the teams..... "Elite" (TBA... looking for input)

Medals will be awarded to Ontario licenced riders only.

Track Enduro Race Series

Saturday Dec. 13th

A race series of 3 endurance events is planned for the FCV, 1 in 2008 and 2 events in 2009 each consisting of 6 hours of endurance racing madness.

The first event is on for mid-December.

Time starts at 4:15pm on Saturday December 13th and ends at 10:15pm.

Open to Male & Female Track riders.

Entry $35 for FCV Members, $60 for Non-Members.

Prizes for top 3 covering the most number of laps during the 6 hours. Every hour the rider who covers the most number of laps in that hour also will also receive a prize. (To be eligible, the rider must finish within 99 laps of the overall winner at the end of the night.) The time will not stop for nature breaks.

Total Prize purse for each event is $1,000.00. Hot Food will be available on the infield and from the concession.

Register early as only 30 participates will take to the Velodrome.
