Clara Hughes On Power List

Cyclist and speedskater Clara Hughes has made the Globe and Mail's 2009 Power List that "distinguishes people who, by their accomplishments or positions attained during the preceding year, have the power to influence Canadian sport in the next 12 to 15 months." Hughes came in at 14th, the third highest ranked athlete on the list (behind hockey players Steve Yzerman (10th) and Jarome Iginla (12th)). Number one was John Furlong, CEO of the Vancouver Olympic Games organizing committee. Hughes was recognized primarily for her activism in the Right To Play humanitarian program (www.righttoplay.com).
