Toronto Bike Show Dirt Comps, 4-Cross Dirt Racing and Stunt contests
Press release

March 13 - 15, Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place, Toronto, Canada.

In conjunction with The Toronto International Bicycle Show, the 2009 Toronto Bike Show Dirt Comps promise new challenges for riders and a great show for spectators. Three separate race days for the pro MTB and BMX Racers and two separate days of dirt stunt for both bikes, means the 09 Bike show will be non- stop action. With cash money on the line we will be sure to see some of bikings biggest names on the dirt course.

Last years quintuple winner (yep, 5 classes in one day) Brian Strieby, not only plans on a return to defend his titles, but he is bringing back-up in the form of older bro Nate. The Strieby bros will be in Toronto early, Brian coming from Pheonix and Nate coming from Indy, the boys will be on site lending their experience to the Smit dogg with the race track and dirt jump design and build. Brians bag of tricks was stuffed last year with flip variations and his race skills were unmatched, one year older, Brian feels up to the challenge at hand.

Fresh off the Innaugural Ontario Indoor 4- Cross season, promoter Brent "Smitty" Smith, his crew and the Ontario racers are ready to raise the bar to new heights. We have Ontario riders well into a good race groove, after 9 winter events and numerous variations to the track, the riders are dialed more than ever. The UCI random gate is working out great and Ontario has a stack of serious gate snappers, eager for dough.

When there is $ 8,000.00 in purse money, a Smitty-built dirt course and former champs like, John Purse, Wade Simmons, Justin Lafredo, Doug Beatie, Billy Au, Brent Smith, Tim DaSilva, Brian Lopes and more, you just never know who might show in the T-Dot.

Friday will feature practice for both stunt and race as well as the annual Timmy DaSilva Challenge, pro race only BMX vs. MTB, in memory of 2006 Champion, BMXer Tim DaSilva. This race pays to third place for both men and women.

Saturday and Sunday are two separate days of comps, pro cash purse of $8,000.00 for the weekend, mens pro MTB race pays to sixth place both days.

Smitty plans for this years events to top any from his previous, with good friends, a fun course and fair competition, this exhibition type comp is open for riders from 14 years and up who can compete in the exhibition pro classes if deemed capable. Exhibition amatuer classes are also great fun, open to 14 years and over with awesome merchandise prizes from our co-sponsors.

Space for entries is limited, please visit www.motoparkracing.com/bicycleshow, or Face book group - Toronto Bike Show Dirt Comps - for schedule, entry forms and more info.
