The Local Ride Racing Team is celebrating the new season with a team launch party and fundraiser on Friday, April 3 at the Shark Club Bar and Grill in Vancouver. The event will feature live band Fully Loaded (www.loadedfully.com), a silent auction, Tacx VR World Championship indoor cycling races, 50/50 draw, and other fun stuff.

Come show support for your favourite team in brick and blue, meet the squad, bring your friends, listen to some awesome music and help launch Local Ride Racing into their best season ever. All proceeds from pre-sold tickets only will go directly to the team.

Local Ride Racing is hosting the Tacx VR World Championships in conjunction with the season launch party. Test yourself and your fellow partygoers on Tacx’s state-of-the-art Fortius Virtual Reality ergo trainer for a chance to win great prizes! Advance tickets for the event are $20 and include cover, live band, a complimentary beverage, a $10 Taraxca Jewellery gift certificate and a great time. Entry fee for the Tacx VR World Championships is an additional $5. Tacx VR World Championships

How it works: When you arrive at the Shark Club, register to reserve your spot for the Tacx VR World Championships, pay the $5 entry fee, and sign a waiver. Then get a beverage, join some friends, and wait your turn to pedal for great prizes, like an entry to Race the Ridge Stage Race, April 25-26.

Cost: $5

Bike: Everyone will be using the same bicycle, size M

Pedals: The bike will be outfitted with double-sided pedals (SPD on one side, standard flats with cage on the other). Bring your own shoes.

Course: Everyone will be riding the identical course - best time wins!

Categories: There will be 4 categories - Racer Men, Racer Women, Joe Average, Jill Average

The Local Ride Racing Team presented by Local Ride Bike Shop in Maple Ridge, B.C. is supporting riders from the grassroots level all the way to the elite ranks in the road, mountain bike and cyclocross disciplines.
